The Leipzig Heart Institute (LHI) is a company founded in 2015 and is funded half by the Leipzig Heart Center and half by HELIOS Kliniken. The LHI carries out research projects in the field of cardiovascular medicine in close cooperation with the Leipzig Heart Center. The main focus is on developing new therapy methods in cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology in close and unrestricted cooperation with industrial partners and putting them into clinical use.
