This website is a product of the Regional Office of Terre des hommes, located in Budapest, Hungary as part of the programme implemented by Terre des hommes – Child Relief, based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The double mandate of the Regional office in Budapest is to assist the work of the Tdh Delegations in Albania, Kosovo, Moldova and Romania and to enhance Tdh regional advocacy based on lessons learnt from the field. The final aim of the office is that children in situations of vulnerability access minimum standards of services at national and transnational levels. Priority is given to children coming from the four countries of intervention, who are vulnerable, due to their economic status, ethnic background, family situation, or other circumstances.

The Regional Office promotes services that ensure that the rights of children are respected, protected and fulfilled – and the best interests of the child prevail. Services should be available in the children’s countries of origin as well as in countries of transit and destination, i.e. through the whole path of the possible movement of the children.
