Specialty Crop Block Grant Program Farm Bill 2025

Objectives: The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) is designed to enhance the competitiveness of U.S. specialty crops in domestic and international markets. Through the grant, eligible State departments of agriculture receive funding to execute projects that promote specialty crops. Core objectives include enhancing food safety, improving the efficiency of distribution systems, increasing the nutritional consumption of specialty crops, controlling pests and diseases, and fostering research into new seed varieties. The program aims to address challenges faced by producers at local, regional, and national levels to ensure specialty crops' competitiveness.
