ABOUT ARTICLE 19
ARTICLE 19 was established in 1987 and delivers vital advocacy on freedom of expression in an era defined by digital technology. We define ourselves as an international think-do organisation that propels the freedom of expression movement locally and globally to ensure all people realise the power of their voices. We are working to define a new digital era for expression by bridging human rights and technology, seeking to protect, empower and connect silenced voices and dissent. We advance law and policy to protect freedom of expression, and demand accountability because we believe freedom of expression concerns everyone: that is why ARTICLE 19 champions a world where all people everywhere can freely express themselves and engage in public life without fear or discrimination.

Together with our partners we THINK by developing cutting-edge research and legal and policy analysis to drive change in the world. We DO by leading work on the frontlines of expression though our regional offices and reinforcing positive change on the ground. And we PROPEL change by sparking innovation in the global freedom of expression movement through our research, campaigns and advocacy. Our international office is based in London, and we have established regional teams based in the Americas, Asia, Europe, MENA and Africa.
