Description

TAHEA Mwanza is a women-led, community-based non-governmental organization established in 1980 and operating across Mwanza Region and other parts of Tanzania. TAHEA Mwanza specializes in quality education programming, with a strong focus on early childhood development (ECD) and primary education pathways for children from economically disadvantaged households.

TAHEA Mwanza applies an integrated, systems-oriented approach in which education serves as the primary entry point, reinforced by Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) to enhance household economic stability and caregivers’ capacity to support children’s learning. Education outcomes are further strengthened through complementary health education, climate resilience interventions, and improvements to living and learning environments, addressing structural barriers that affect school readiness, retention, and progression.

We are seeking international partners to jointly design, implement, and scale multi-year, sustainable education programmes, and to collaborate on competitive international funding applications. TAHEA Mwanza offers strong local implementation capacity, extensive community reach, and established partnerships with local authorities, and seeks partners with technical expertise, donor engagement experience, or consortium leadership capacity.
