In rural regions of Haiti, particularly in the Nippes and South departments, access to safe and reliable transportation remains a major barrier to education. Many children are forced to walk long distances or rely on unsafe transport methods such as overloaded motorcycles, exposing them to accidents and increasing school dropout rates.
To address this urgent challenge, Urgence Haïtienne de Développement Économique et Social (UHDES) is implementing a project aimed at providing safe, structured, and subsidized school transportation for vulnerable children.
This initiative seeks to support approximately 140 children per day, with a long-term objective of reaching more beneficiaries annually, by ensuring access to secure and reliable transportation to and from school.
