Description

Introduction

Human Appeal Associates (HAA), a nonprofit community-based organization, invites global partners, donors, and development actors to collaborate in addressing urgent humanitarian and development needs in South Sudan’s most underserved regions. Since its establishment in 2015, HAA has advanced women’s empowerment, healthcare, WASH, education, and livelihoods, with interventions rooted in community participation and sustainability.

Why Partner with HAA?

The Greater Bahr el Ghazal region continues to endure the compounded effects of conflict, recurrent flooding, displacement, and systemic underdevelopment. Over 472,978 individuals remain affected, including IDPs, returnees, host communities, and refugees. HAA’s integrated response model is designed to restore dignity, promote recovery, and build resilience across four critical sectors:

  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): Safe drinking water, improved sanitation, and hygiene promotion for 71,928 individuals.
  • Livelihoods: Food assistance, agricultural inputs, fishing kits, and cash-for-work schemes supporting 4,265 households.
  • Education: Access to primary education, learning materials, and safe learning environments for 73,300 children and youth.
  • Health: Essential healthcare services for 302,160 individuals, with a focus on maternal and child health, disease prevention, and treatment of endemic conditions.

Strategic Alignment

This initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and global humanitarian priorities, including:

  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 4: Quality Education
  • SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

By partnering with HAA, global actors can contribute to inclusive recovery, resilience, and sustainable development in South Sudan’s most fragile settings.

Call to Action

We invite international donors, foundations, NGOs, private sector actors, and government agencies to collaborate with HAA in scaling impact. Your partnership will:

  • Provide life-saving assistance to vulnerable populations.
  • Strengthen local systems and community ownership.
  • Promote gender equality and youth empowerment.
  • Build sustainable pathways for peace and development.

Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind in South Sudan’s journey toward recovery and resilience.
