IUCN Sri Lanka’s programmes support sustainable natural resource management initiatives of Members and partners. These programmes cover conservation and management of critical habitats, policy/legal and institutional support and environmental education and awareness. Work is focused on the following key thematic areas: biodiversity and ecosystems, coastal and marine resources, business and biodiversity, economics of conservation, water and climate change.
Throughout the region, we lead initiatives that address species loss and ecosystem degradation, help improve management of natural resources for the benefit of human communities, and promote natural infrastructure to reduce risks and impacts of disasters.
