INSTITUTIONAL OBJECTIVES.
Administer the agricultural health and food safety regime in the productive and processing sections.
Maintain the health situation of exotic pests and diseases in the country and improve the health situation of those pests and diseases of economic importance present in Bolivia.
COMPETENCES
The sanitary protection of agricultural and forestry heritage,
The certification of agricultural health and food safety for products of national consumption, import and export,
The accreditation of individuals, natural and legal, suitable for the provision of agricultural health and food safety services,
The control, prevention and eradication of pests and diseases in animals and plants,
The control and guarantee of food safety, in the productive and processing sections corresponding to the agricultural sector,
The control of inputs used for agricultural, agro-industrial and forestry production,
The declaration of public emergency in matters of agricultural health and food safety, and
The establishment of financing mechanisms for the development of SENASAG's competencies, as well as the signing of inter-institutional agreements with public and private, national and international entities.
