Description

The Ministry of Waters and Forests is organized and functions as a specialized body of central public administration, with legal personality, subordinated to the Government.

 

The Ministry of Waters and Forests carries out its activity in the fields of: strategic planning, forestry and hunting fund management, water management, hydrology, hydrogeology, protection, conservation and restoration of natural capital in the field of water and forests.

 

The Ministry of Waters and Forests coordinates the activity of integrating the requirements regarding the strategic planning, management of the forestry and hunting fund, water management, hydrology, hydrogeology, in the other sectoral policies, in accordance with the European and international requirements and standards.

 

The Ministry of Waters and Forests ensures the fulfillment of the ex-ante conditionalities and the compliance with the plans of measures undertaken for their fulfillment, for the fields of water management, in accordance with the commitments assumed by the Partnership Agreement 2014-2020 and the Operational Program Infrastructure 2014-2020.

 

The Ministry of Waters and Forests is designated as the implementing authority of the European Union Solidarity Fund, in accordance with the provisions of Government Decision no. 478/2010 for approving the organizational structure of the Coordinating and Managing Authority in Romania, as well as the structure of the implementing authorities for the management of the Community financial assistance granted through the European Union Solidarity Fund, as subsequently amended and supplemented.

 

The mission of the Ministry of Water and Forests is to carry out the policy at national level in the fields of water management, forestry and hunting regarding all the sectors and sub-sectors they manage, elaborating the strategy and the specific regulations for the development and harmonization of these activities within the general policy of the To the Government, ensuring and coordinating the implementation of the Government's strategy in its areas of competence, fulfilling the role of state authority, synthesis, coordination, regulation, monitoring, inspection and control in these areas.
