FAO's top priority in Syria is to help the most vulnerable to improve their access to food, nutrition and income through seed assistance. FAO provides veterinary support and animal vaccination in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria with the objective of supporting animal health as a vital source of nutrition for the population. Family farming offers displaced and host families the means to produce nutrient-rich food, such as eggs, milk and vegetables, with quick results. FAO seeks to understand the needs to ensure a coordinated response based on evidences and also monitors the impact of the crisis through a combination of regular analysis of the food security data, and conducting evaluations with partners, coordinating the humanitarian response in the food security and agriculture sectors together with the World Food Program in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
