Access Project to Rural Markets and Infrastructures in the Tahoua Region ”(PAMIRTA)
The initiative is the result of a process that began in July 2012, following the request of the Ministry of Planning, the Organization of the Territory and Community Development, transmitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Italian Government, to be able to support in the form of credit, on favorable terms, the Program for the promotion of family agriculture and food security in the Regions of Tahoua, Maradi and Zinder, called COSOP, developed by Niger in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
With opinion no. 12 of 21 October 2013, the Steering Committee for Development Cooperation has expressed a favorable opinion on the loan as an aid to the initiative called "Project for Access to Markets and Rural Infrastructures in the Tahoua Region" - PAMIRTA, for an amount total of € 20,000,000.00. In the same session, with resolution no. 164 the Management Committee approved the granting of a voluntary contribution of € 753,060.00 in favor of IFAD, to guarantee the necessary technical assistance in support of the project.
