In accordance with the French-speaking professional training and technical training that took place in BAMAKO in May 1998, Niger embarked on a process of reorganizing vocational and technical education and training (VET).
With this in mind, a workshop on EFPT sectoral policy was organized in 2004 to decide on the creation of a ministerial department in charge of TVET.
Thus, the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training in charge of Youth Employment (MFPT / E) was created in 2005 under the 5th REPUBLIC.
It becomes successively:
(i) Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training (MFPT) in 2007;
(ii) Ministry of Vocational Training and Literacy (MFP / A) in 2010, under the military transition of General SALOU DJIBO;
(iii) Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment (MFPE) in 2011, with the advent of the 7th REPUBLIC;
(iv) Ministry of Professional and Technical Education (MEP / T) in August 2013 following the reorganization of the government of the 7th REPUBLIC.
