The work of FAO in Colombia focuses on the following areas: Fighting food insecurity and malnutrition incorporating a human rights perspective in policy frameworks and policies, encouraging the participation of civil society in capacity building within the cycle of policies on food and nutrition security; Natural resources and governance of forests, land and water; Social and technological innovation for sustainable food systems, through which it is expected to reduce urban-rural gaps through processes of social and technological innovation; Promotion of public policies aimed at social and economic inclusion of family farming; Risk management and rehabilitation of livelihoods generating resilience in vulnerable communities.
