FAO technical assistance in Gabon centres on the following three priorities: Developing responsible agriculture, through the adoption of good agriculture practices for improved performance and increased production; Improving food and nutrition security, coping with the issues of nutritional education and food safety of national and imported food, with a particular emphasis on poverty-stricken people; Developing and implementing concerted and intersectoral policies and legal frameworks. FAO also promotes the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests favouring secure tenure rights and equitable access to land, fisheries and forests.
