Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) - Organización Panamericana de la Salud - is the Americas' specialist global health agency that collaborates with nations around the area to improve and safeguard people's health.
PAHO works with its member nations on technical cooperation to combat communicable and non-communicable illnesses and their causes, develop health systems and react to emergency events. PAHO is dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to the health care they require and works to promote everyone's right to good health.
The organization encourages worldwide technical cooperation and collaborates with Ministries of Health and other government entities, civil society organizations, other international bodies, universities, social security agencies, community organizations and other participants.
PAHO advocates for the integration of health in all public policies, as well as the participation of all areas in efforts to guarantee that people live longer, better lives with excellent health as their most precious resource.
