National Laboratory for Energy Conversion Technology, the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (B2TKE-BPPT) is one of the leading centers for the development of innovation and energy technology services, is expected to play a role to encourage the growth of the energy industry as well as the application of energy technologies that are efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly to provide solutions national energy issues
The establishment of B2TKE-BPPT started with the establishment of Technical Unit of Energy Source and Resources Laboratory (UPT-LSDE) in 1987 as a center of energy conservation, conversion, and energy utilization technology to serve national needs which is the result of the study of BPPT and Battelle Columbus Laboratories.
B2TKE was inaugurated on October 19, 2015 as an amalgamation of the Energy Technology Center (B2TE) with the Center for Energy Conversion and Conservation Technology (PTKKE) based on the regulation of BPPT head 012 of 2015.
