Description
The Secretariat for Agrarian Development, an organ of the Direct Administration of the Government of the State of Ceará, has the purpose of planning, coordinating and executing, directly or through its Affiliates, the Government's actions for the development of agriculture, through support to family farming. The current structure of the Secretariat for Agrarian Development was created by Law Nº. 13,875 of February 7, 2007. Before that, however, the Organ had undergone, since its creation, 11 structural reforms , with changes in its original denomination. According to the records found, the institution that governs the State's Agriculture business originated on March 23, 1921, by Law No. 1827, designated by the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Public Works. Today it is called the Secretariat for Agrarian Development.

Promote sustainable rural development in the State of Ceará, with an emphasis on family farmers, with participation, inclusion and social justice.

To be recognized until 2020, as an institution responsible for achieving sustainable development in family farming.
