Description
Ministry of Agriculture Food and Forestry Policies
The Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies (MIPAAFT) deals with the elaboration and coordination of agricultural, agri-food, forestry, tourism, fishing and horse-racing policies at national and international level. It represents Italy at the European level in the negotiations and implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and of the matters under its jurisdiction.
The Ministry coordinates checks on the agri-food and fish sector through the control bodies that are the Central Inspectorate for Fraud Prevention - ICQRF, the Coast Guard and the Command for the environmental protection of the Carabinieri.
The current Minister is Gian Marco Centinaio.
