Description
DEEY,Department of Ecology and Environment of Yunnan Province, was officially upgraded to the department level in February 2009. It is now a department-level authority directly under Yunnan Provincial People’s Government responsible for environmental protection in Yunnan. Currently it has 13 divisions and the party committee, in total 87 official positions, (previously 10 divisions and the party committee).
Its main responsibilities are as follows:
Establish and perfect the basic environmental protection system
Formulate and implement environment protection policies and plans;
Organize environmental functional zoning and draw pollution prevention and control plans and protection plans for key areas, watershed and drinking water source areas.
