National Administration of Penitentiaries / Administrația Națională a Penitenciarelor (Moldova)

The National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) is the central specialized body, with the status of subdivision of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, which exercises the attributions and implements the state policy in the field of execution of the criminal punishments with life imprisonment and detention, of the measure of preventive arrest, of the sanction of the contraventional arrest, as well as of the security measures applied to the persons deprived of liberty. The activity of ANP is carried out exclusively on the basis and for law enforcement, in accordance with the principles of legality, respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms, impartiality and non-discrimination, personal responsibility and professionalism, transparency, observance of state secrets and other official information with limited accessibility.
