Description

The Agglomeration Community of La Rochelle has 28 municipalities since its extension in 2014, and the integration of ten new municipalities has enabled it to affirm its maritime dimension and its anchoring in Aunis. All form a pool of life and activities.

ATTRACTIVENESS AND TOURISM
Lively, effervescent, beautiful, free, radiant, attractive, creative, enterprising, intelligent, stimulating, pioneering, audacious… The La Rochelle Agglomeration has character and multiple attractions. Little preview!

In the north of New Aquitaine, in the heart of a privileged natural environment, the Agglo Rochelaise deploys the assets of a territory on a human scale where life is good. A territory of exchanges, open to the world, which inspires as much as it attracts.

How to account for its cultural and sporting effervescence, which makes it one of the most dynamic agglomerations in France? How to evoke this territory on a human scale and open to the world, with an exceptional quality of life, nestled within the emblematic New Aquitaine? How to show its economic assets and its capacity for innovation, the quality of its higher education and its research? How to detail the many initiatives that have made it, for more than 40 years, a laboratory of urban ecology and a European reference in terms of sustainable mobility?

Charming ambassador of Charente-Maritime, La Rochelle is one of the most important tourist destinations in France with more than 4 million visitors per year.

Port agglomeration, it benefits from a long tradition of international exchanges.Open in a new tabToday, the territory carries out many decentralized cooperation actions with local authorities from other countries through twinning, exchanges of experience, solidarity actions and partnerships.
