Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate (GIF) - a state institution supervising control over the production and marketing of medicinal products in Poland to ensure patient safety.

The Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate deals with:

• Withdrawal, suspension, use of medicinal products in health care facilities , hospitals , pharmaceutical wholesalers , pharmacies , pharmacy outlets and herbal and medical stores.
• Suspending or withdrawing products from pharmaceutical wholesalers and generally accessible pharmacies in the event of suspicion or finding about a given product that it is not approved, impermissible or does not constitute quality requirements for sale throughout the country.
• The supervision also exercises full control over the granting, changes, withdrawals, refusals to grant authorizations to operate a pharmacy, a pharmaceutical warehouse, the manufacture of medicinal products, and the advertising of medicinal products.
