Description
The Municipality of Anogeia in collaboration with the Municipalities of Amari, Gortyna, Malevizio, Mylopotamos, Rethymnon, Phaistos and the Region of Crete founded in 2019 the Urban Non-Profit Company under the name Network of Municipalities Psiloreiti and with the distinctive title "NETWORK OF IDEAS".
The purpose of AMKE is the joint voluntary and close cooperation of the Municipalities of Psiloritis as well as the Region of Crete on issues related to the local specificity of all or part of their area. An important role in AMKE and in the development of the region is played by the Psiloritis Natural Park, which has been officially recognized by UNESCO as a UNESCO Geopark.
