The role of the Ministry in the exploitation of the natural resources in Oman has developed over the past five decades of the Blessed Renaissance, through the optimal employment of financial and human potential, modern technologies in the fields of Oil & Gas, electricity and renewable energy, energy and minerals. These sectors progress geared in line with Oman's Vision 2040 towards economic diversification, by optimizing the exploitation of natural resources and renewable energy available in Oman. 

Vision: The development and exploitation of energy (Oil, Gas and renewable energy) and mineral resources with high efficiency and innovation to support the national economy.

Mission: Organize and develop the energy and minerals sector in order to achieve optimal exploitation of these resources in the framework of Occupational health, safety, and environment.
