Description

UN Women works alongside the 15 other UN agencies (UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP Fiji Multi-County Office, UNDP Pacific Centre, UNDP Samoa Multi-County Office, ILO, OHCHR, UNESCAP, UNAIDS, OCHA, UNV, WHO, UNESCO, ISDR, UNDSS) in the Pacific to implement the Pacific United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) with 14 governments: Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

UN Women provides technical support to UN agencies working in the region, particularly the UN Multi-Country Offices in Fiji and Samoa, and the UN Papua New Guinea (PNG) Country Office. UN Women has a strategic presence in PNG and is making a solid contribution to the One UN Country Programme and UNDAF in the country that has the most challenging gender indicators.
