The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the body responsible for international cooperation in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). It is responsible for co-ordinating development co-operation and co-operation with Eastern Europe with other offices of the Confederation, as well as for Swiss Humanitarian Aid.
Development cooperation aims to fight against poverty. It promotes the economic and political empowerment of States, helps to improve the conditions of production, and helps to manage environmental problems and improve access to training and basic medical care.
