The area of the Czerwonka commune is part of the Ciechanowska Upland mesoregion, which is part of the North Masovia Lowland macroregion. The area was shaped during the Central Polish glaciation (GIII), with inselbergs of moraine and kame hills, such as the Krzyżewskie Mountains in the western part of the commune, north of Maków Mazowiecki. The Orzyc River flows along part of the western border of the area, and the Różanica, a right-bank tributary of the Narew River, flows through the center.
The area is mainly agricultural with a predominance of proper brown and acidic brown soils.
