The Union of Montedoro Municipalities , established voluntarily, pursuant to art. 32 of law 18 August 2000, n. 267, for an indefinite period, is made up of all the territories of the Municipalities of Alberobello, Acquaviva delle Fonti, Avetrana, Bitetto, Capurso, Carosino, Carovigno, Castellana Grotte, Cellamare, Cellino San Marco, Corato, Erchie, Faggiano, Fragagnano, Francavilla Fontana, Ginosa, Gioia del Colle, Grottaglie, Latiano, Leporano, Lizzano, Locorotondo, Manduria, Martina Franca, Maruggio, Modugno, Monopoli, Monteiasi, Montemesola, Monteparano, Noci, Oria, Orta Nova, Palagiano, Polignano a Mare, Pulsano, Putignano, Roccaforzata, San Giorgio Ionico, San Marzano di San Giuseppe, San Teramo in Colle, Sava, Toritto, Torre Santa Susanna, Torricella, Triggiano, Trinitapoli, Villa Castelli, AUSL BR/1 social consortium and Bitonto.

The Union, as provided for by art. 8 of the Statute, exercises the management of contracts for services, supplies and public works of joint interest of the adhering municipalities and/or of the union, pursuant to art. 37, paragraph 4, letter b) of Legislative Decree 2016.

The headquarters of the Union is located in the Municipal Palace of Faggiano, unless otherwise determined by the Council of the Union.
