The ACN is the National Cybersecurity Authority established with Legislative Decree 14 June 2021, n. 82, to protect national interests in cyberspace. It guarantees the implementation of the national cybersecurity strategy adopted by the Prime Minister, promotes a coherent regulatory framework in the sector, and exercises inspection and sanctioning functions. Develop collaborations at an international level with similar agencies. It ensures coordination between public entities and the implementation of public-private actions aimed at guaranteeing cyber security and resilience for the digital development of the country. What it does It supports national public and private entities, which provide essential services, in the prevention and mitigation of incidents, as well as for the purposes of restoring systems. It pursues national and European strategic autonomy in the digital sector, in synergy with the production system and the world of research. It promotes training courses for the development of the workforce and promotes awareness campaigns and dissemination of the culture of cybersecurity. How it is organized The organizational structure was detailed in Prime Ministerial Decree no. 223 of 9 December 2021 and includes the national Computer Security Incident Response Team "CSIRT Italia", the National Evaluation and Certification Center for the technological scrutiny of national strategic digital assets and the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity with its European technological development programs and PNRR cyber projects aimed at improving national capabilities in the sector. What vision is it inspired by? Ensuring the economic prosperity and security of the country in the context of digital transformation, through a multidimensional process of cyber and technological risk management, working to prevent and mitigate the greatest number of cyber attacks.
