Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia.
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia carries out international cooperation in accordance to bilateral and multilateral treaties, intergovernmental committees, as well as within the framework of cooperation with foreign countries and international organizations.
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Republic of Armenia coordinates the activity of the Republic of Armenia with regard to membership to international organizations of energy sector, such as:
v International Atomic Energy Agency
v International Renewable Energy Agency
v Energy Charter
v EU Energy Community
v Electricity Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States
The Cooperation is being carried with the Sustainable Energy division of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), with Energy Working Group of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), within the framework of EU Eastern Partnership “Energy Platform III” and INOGATE programme, EU “Covenant of Mayors”, within the framework of the Commission for the Peaceful use of Atomic Energy of CIS countries, with intergovernmental Council for Mineral Resources Exploration, Utilization, Protection of the CIS countries.
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia coordinates:
v The works of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran,
v The works of Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Turkmenistan
v The subcommittee on energy, nuclear safety, transport and environment of the Republic of Armenia -European Union.
With support and funding from international financial organizations, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), German reconstruction bank (KFW), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) the modernization, renovation, upgrading works have been implemented and currently are ongoing in the energy sector of Armenia.
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia makes continuous efforts towards establishing the mutual beneficial multilateral cooperation, its strengthening and attraction of foreign investments.
