About
Mr. Tanner has over 25 years’ experience in international renewable power and clean infrastructure development and advisory. He lived and worked in Southeast Asia for over 14 years, leading and supervising multidisciplinary project development and implementation teams. Core power generation expertise includes wind (both on and offshore), solar PV, waste to energy, thermal, and hydroelectric power generation. While based in Asia with Vivendi / Generale des Eaux he led new Group project origination and development. During his time there he helped increase Group region-wide revenues by 5 times to over $1.2 Billion. While based in New York with Mott MacDonald, he was responsible for leading and growing the renewable power advisory program. In this capacity, he assembled and managed teams providing technical and financial due diligence reviews and assessments of investment in renewable power projects. His clients included developers, banks, funds, bilateral development agencies, utilities, government ministries and departments, as well as Fortune 500 companies. Over the past 16 years, he has advised on renewable power transactions involving over 25GW of installed capacity, with a leveraged value of over $11 Billion, and serving over 250 million persons. Mr. Tanner is an accomplished international project development advisor and team builder. A keen strategist and planner, he has helped shape investment program direction at Board levels in utility infrastructure companies. He has sat as a Director on the Boards of privately-owned infrastructure concession companies. He has extensive experience hiring and mentoring advisory and development teams leading them to exceed key performance targets. Based in Canada, Mr. Tanner advises both public and private sector clients on their international renewable energy investments and project developments.
