I am a senior manager with over 25 years’ experience in international development, including 10 years as a management consultant. From 1996 to 2004, I held information and communications positions in Kenya, Syria and the UK. As senior business development manager for the consulting wing of a major international NGO (2005-6) I led on programme design and partnership development. In 2006, I took up a position as Managing Director for a UK-based health systems consultancy turning their portfolio around in under 3 years. As a consultant 2008 to date, I provided management support services in strategy development, business development, knowledge management and communications. In 2011, I set up the Regional Office (Africa) of a global Indian consulting company before moving to a regional NGO where I set up their resource mobilisation function, managed the team and re-established their Somalia programme while developing the concept for a Social Enterprise Hub (2013- 2016). I am the co-director of companies in Kenya and the UK that act as a platform for individual consultancies and support a social enterprise in Kenya.
