Applicant, who is a Ghanaian and a Canadian, has had over 20 years’ experience in research, participatory training, monitoring and evaluation, environmental preservation, water supply and sanitation, climate change adaptation, small-scale farming, agro-value chain ventures, export crop marketing and small business development. Major management positions such as Acting Director of Nunavut Bureau of Statistics (Canada), Assistant Director of Community Development and Program Coordinator of The-Hunger Project-Ghana (Ghana branch of a US-based NGO) exposed applicant to donor-funded schemes and various management tasks. His successful proposal writing activities include the doctoral research proposal funded by the International Development Research Centre and the computerization scheme which resulted in a supply of 460 computers (second hand) to youth institutes by a British NGO. Applicant has recently been collaborating with some agencies on the USAID-funded Ghana MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) Capacity Building Project and with Ghanaian agencies on renewable energy schemes, agro-value chains and crop export ventures. In addition to a number of upcoming publications, he has published on Ghanaian communities in challenging contexts.
