About
I am passionate about driving positive environmental and socio-economic impacts through sustainable solutions. I am an eager Climate Finance and Natural Resource Economist with a track record of working on sustainable development projects. I have contributed to diverse consulting projects, from designing biodiversity stewardship programs in Mauritius to planning climate financing strategies for Lebanon.
As a Biodiversity Financing Consultant for Rio Impact, I am currently assessing the economic and social feasibility of introducing different stewardship incentives in Mauritius. As a Natural Resource Economist for Mott MacDonald, I contributed in preparing concept notes for six potential GCF projects. In the UNDP-funded "Sustainable Land and Forest Management Project of Lebanon," I prepared a report on the preliminary work Lebanon needs to do for mobilizing the REDD+ initiative. I also studied the market system of Non-Wood Forest Products (NWFP), which can be crucial in addressing land degradation in Lebanon.
In the last decade, I have assisted USAID, UNDP, Dutch Government, FCDO, SNV, and GAIN on different consulting projects, and most of these clients engaged me in multiple projects. I have worked on landmark water projects for the Mott MacDonald team, including the BlueGold and SIBDP2100. I have developed a national-level strategy report for the Bangladesh Delta Plan team on participatory water management to ensure proper Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of water infrastructures. Subsequently, the Government of Bangladesh adopted several recommendations from this report.
Previously, as a National Researcher, I contributed to the FCDO-funded "UK Bangladesh Climate Partnership Forum". I have also worked in FCDO-funded "Scoping studies for Bangladesh Adaptation, Mitigation, and Environment Programme." I have designed the commercial structure of Bangladesh's first Faecal Sludge Management Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project. I have worked with different private investors and helped them prepare successful PPP project bids. I have assisted Delcot Bangladesh in preparing a winning PPP bid for the Purbachal Water Supply PPP Project.
Being Australian and Bangladeshi, I was educated in two cultures. In 2016, I finished my Ph.D. in Infrastructure Financing at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Along with consulting projects, I have worked on different consulting bids and have assisted my team in preparing winning technical proposals. I have a track record of developing the work plan, and writing a client-centric approach and methodology.
