About

I hold a doctorate in Life Sciences and I am a program manager with more than 15 years of experience in the design and implementation of nature conservation actions, management of natural resources and integrated development in particular in the frameworks of the Management of protected areas, wildlife management, inventory, management plans, impact studies and national and regional environmental policies: evaluation, technical assistance, monitoring, operationalization, main-streaming, capacity building, development of information systems, knowledge management. In addition, I have good experience in strategies for mitigating and compensating for impacts on biodiversity, basic data and monitoring of impacts for the mining sector. My management skills cover project execution, planning, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, project communication, visibility, event organization, project capitalization, change management and risk management. I can demonstrate significant professional experience with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as coordinator of technical and institutional support to national and regional institutions responsible for protected areas in 25 African countries. It is based on a double scientific training and in management, an experience of 7 years in scientific research in the fields of population genetics, evolution of small populations, reproductive systems and conservation genetics with general knowledge in ecology, sociology and regional planning. Recently, I have particularly engaged in articulating science, local contexts and policy:

In Guinea I contributed to influencing global policies on the mining sector with the World Bank and mining corporations BHP Billiton and RioTinto on biodiversity management standards and practices (IFC std 6); I subsequently contributed to implementing large information systems, Biodiversity Observatories and capacity building strategies to improve the use of information for decision making at national and regional level. This work was conducted with the Central Africa Forest Commission and with the West African Economic commission, contributing generally to the implementation and monitoring of forestry convergence plans. Most notably, I took a major role in the development of the EU 11th EDF regional investment in West Africa (PAPBio).

I have practiced in Europe, in South East Asia, in the Gulf and for more than 12 years in West and Central Africa, region in which he acquired a wide experience in organizational support to NGOs and regional institutions, the establishment of information systems, capacity building and training systems. I have worked in mountain habitats, tropical forests, deserts and the Sahel, in particular on ungulates, canids, great apes, reptiles and insects. I also masters Microsoft, Adobe suite, ARCGis and QGIS IT tools, as well as statistics in the natural and social sciences.
