About
Ms. Vergel has more than ten years working experience in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and environment. Currently, she is working under ADB’s Sustainable Energy for All in Asia and the Pacific Initiative where she builds on the work that has been done under the Energy for All Program. She leads capacity building activities on energy access topics for various stakeholders. She prepares knowledge products, including technical reports and case studies, for dissemination and for use in trainings. She also and supports the Program’s project development and investment facilitation activities.
She was the Assistant Country Coordinator for PFAN Philippines under ECO-Asia Programme where she provided key coordination support that led to six (6) project closures. She worked closely with the PFANPhilippines’ network of project developers, mentors and financing institutions to facilitate timely interaction amongst. She organized project development workshops and investor fora with key stakeholders in attendance. She has worked in local and regional projects funded by the USAID, International Finance Corporation, UNDP, ICASEA, IRENA, and World Bank, all aimed to facilitate investments in clean energy. In most of these, she drafted and prepared technical reports, event proceedings, market assessment and scoping studies, case studies, and final project reports.
She was the Project Coordinator for the EU-funded project Increasing Access to Local Sources of Financing for Renewable Energy Investments and Design of Innovative Financing Instruments. Under this project, she coordinated with local and international RE experts in the implementation of project activities, and organized study tours and financing fora in the region. Ms. Vergel has also led the preparation and development of several national and ASEAN fora, Investors Financing Forum for Renewable Energy projects, and capacity building programs on renewable energy designed for key stakeholders in the clean energy space.
