I am a Project Management Professional with 25+ years’ experience in the Humanitarian Sector, United Nations and International Non-Governmental Organizations, and excelled in Overall Program/Project Management, Finance, Administration, Operations and Capacity Building; especially I have managed a wide range of bilateral and donor-funded multi-disciplinary projects/programs with the range of USD 3 to 100 million worth in Asia and Africa, especially in Sri Lanka.
I have groomed my career from bottom to top level management throughout my 25+ years' career ladder and served as Social Mobilizer, NGO Community Development Trainer, Practitioner, Livelihood/Entrepreneurship Promoter (women and youth), Social Scientist, Management Consultant, Project Management Professional, Strategist, Women empowerment/Gender, NGO staff Capacity building/Educator, SWM Specialist, Team Lead, Country Project Lead, Project Director and Program Director.
I have worked during emergencies, especially during the 30 years ethnic war in Sri Lanka and tsunami disaster. I have worked with all level of people, from the marginalized communities to policy makers; especially my dedicated community service rented to the disadvantaged groups, including women-headed/war affected households, children & youths at risk, people with disabilities, former war combatants, boundary communities, internally displaced people and overall marginalized groups.
I have worked with and managed multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams during my career and supported staff personnel development, excelled in overall project management including research, monitoring and evaluation, and maintained a diplomatic Government and donor relationship. I have full professional proficiency in English, fluent in Tamil and good in Sinhala.
