Dr Erden completed her PhD in Curriculum Studies. She has a PhD minor in Inquiry Methodology with a particular focus on qualitative research methods such as narrative inquiry, critical ethnoghraphy, and case studies.

My academic interests, in general, focus on human mobility, education in emergencies, multicultural education, critical theory, inquiry methodology, gender and sexuality, and curriculum studies. Particularly, I am interested in exploring issues related to immigrant, refugee and minority education along with international student mobility with an eventual aim of creating educational solutions to current educational issues. I also have expertise in administering and organizing professional and educational programs to meet the urgent and unexpected needs of vulnerable communities, and researching issues related to education, human mobility and forced migration.
