Twenty-six years of experience as a policy advisor, programme designer and project manager with in emergency relief, conflict and post-conflict sustainable rural development, institutional and community empowerment, and small enterprise development, working with national governments, United Nations Agencies, donor agencies and international and national NGOs, across Africa, Central and South Asia and the Middle East.

Highlights include serving as Senior Advisor to the Afghan Minister for Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), developing and influencing national policies in rural development, programme design, budgeting and implementation in insecure environments, developing pioneering innovative monitoring and evaluation mechanisms in conflict-affected regions independently, and in concert with international military forces.
