About
Emma has more than 20 years of research, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, policy and social/gender analysis and training on gender transformative approaches, gender-based violence (GBV), HIV and SRHR. Experience includes work on the following projects: audit and mapping of Islamic Relief’s work on gender justice including their GBV work, evaluations of the Girl Hub, Frontline AIDS and the Parliamentarian for Women’s Health Project in Botswana and Namibia, development of a policy position paper on GBV for Voluntary Services Overseas, development of an organisational strategy for a women’s group in Saudi Arabia and peer research projects on the links between HIV and VAW in the UK, Latin America and the MENA region using a feminist framework. For eight years she provided senior technical assistance for the DFID funded Violence Against Women and Girls Helpdesk. This work included writing numerous rapid reports and developing four guidance notes on integrating VAWG into 1. heath programming, 2. economic development initiatives, 3. social norms approaches, and 4. maternal health care settings.
