Key qualifications:

• 10 years of communications experience in international cooperation projects (migration, development cooperation, human rights, violent extremism, diplomacy), including EU-financed external actions adhering to EU communication & visibility requirements (C&V);

• 4 years of experience with organising conferences in Europe and Africa (North Africa, Sub- Saharan Africa), with policymakers and experts;

• 10 years of experience in managing and producing content for communications and knowledge- sharing purposes (articles, infographics, data visualisation, video, reports, websites, visibility materials), including research, conception, content development, design briefing, supervision of contractors;

• Experienced with developing communications strategies for EU-funded projects and the private sector, defining key messages and target groups, proposing activities and tools, setting timetables;

• Strategic social media campaigns, planned and implemented for non-profit projects and the private sector, including live coverage of events (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn);

• Experienced with evaluating metrics of success, to adapt strategies, grow audiences and improve outreach results over time;

• Ability to translate complex ideas into accessible messages with the support of visual communication tools (infographics, videos, brochures, illustrated reports);

• Capacity to tailor language, style and format to match different platforms and audiences, including policymakers, civil society organisations, researchers, the private sector and the general public;

• Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods; analytical thinking and independent problem-solving;

• Experienced with project management tools & techniques, including project cycle management (PCM), monitoring and evaluation (M&E);

• Cultural sensitivity and ability to interact with counterparts of different hierarchy levels and backgrounds (representatives of European and African governments, civil society, international organisations, European Commission, ECOWAS);

• Detail oriented, with excellent drafting, editing and proofreading skills in English, French and German.
