About
Holger Trunk has over 32 years of high-level operations, military training, capacity building, training experience, construction experience, leading multi-disciplinary teams of trade personnel within large, medium and small scale construction projects in remote and often difficult areas, delivering German quality. He is highly motivated, disciplined and organized with excellent management (PRINCE2), negotiation and communication skills in both, German and English. His conversational French is good. Before he became an Architect, he served for 15 years with the German paratroopers, as squad, platoon leader, security officer and instructor for officer cadets, serving in several countries, such as France, Great Britain, Denmark and Afghanistan. To transition from the military to civilian life, Holger studied at the University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart, Germany. His major subjects were vertical construction, building design and energy efficiency. Structural engineering and MEP were also contents he qualified in. He finished his Bachelors thesis in the topic of school construction and modern learning. In the recent 16 years he worked at least 8,5 years in international development on programs donated by DFID, FCO, AUSAID and KfW in managing positions. Not only being a Lieutenant Colonel (ret.) in the German Army, he was assigned for at least 11 years in leading civilian positions, such as team leader, president of a company and chief engineer on DFIDs largest school building project worldwide in Pakistan. Cooperative grant management was part of his recent position as head of program of the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), but was also essential part during the setup of the M+W Group’s branch office in Kabul, Afghanistan. He has strong subject matter experience in procurement and setup of business in Afghanistan, as well in water supply, energy, transportation infrastructure and vertical infrastructure. During his time within the FCO in South Afghanistan, his assignment at Kandahar Airfield, and his work for Luthardt Group, he works closely with electrical engineers, which gave him a strong insight on the technical aspects on power grids, hydro dams and solar. His vast experience in many fields of infrastructure, such as water supply, waste water treatment, schools, roads and bridges, airfields, military installations, antenna stations, electrification and power transmission makes him an asset for all companies. Today he is living on his own property in Belize, Yalbac Road, Buena Vista, Cayo District.
