Jul 2021 till present, Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) – Amman, Jordan. Assistant Project Manager (MADAD/ EU Funded Project)

Conduct a periodic planning of activities and for corresponding materials, human and financial resources;

Assist in the management of project activities is in accordance with FAO field operations policies and procedures, project description, approved work plans, budgets, and contractual agreements, in collaboration with other project staff.

Ensure that management systems are established and administered and ensure that all project activities are coordinated effectively;

Ensure that activities are in compliance with donor policies and regulations;

Provide technical inputs in major project components;

Provide technical assistance in areas of expertise;

Identify needs for short-term technical assistance;

Develop terms of reference; prepare consulting agreements for consultants, facilitates work;

Provide oversight of short-term consultancies. Develop/update procurement plans with relevant staff for approval by FAO; arrange for procurement of equipment in collaboration with project’s administrator under supervision of PM; ensure proper maintenance of project equipment inventory.

With direct support of administrator and accountant, develop project budgets for approval by PM and monitor expenditures against budgets;

Ensure establishment of financial management systems for project to adequately meet financial management needs and donor regulations and policies;

Monitor accounting, administrative and operational procedures, standards and policies, prepare and submit quarterly narrative and financial reports to the PM in accordance with agreed templates and procedures.

Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities including day-to-day monitoring of project implementation;

Facilitate end of term evaluation activities;

Develop knowledge management.

Develop grants scheme manual, SOPs, and workplan.

Supervise the grants scheme implementation and progress.

Implement Risk Management activities including registering, review and ensure that mitigation actions are implemented.

Establish and maintain cordial working relationships with and amongst project staff, stakeholders, and other relevant sectoral organizations in Jordan.

Develop and implement communication and visibility action plan according to EU visibility guidelines.

prepare draft responses to a wide range of correspondence and other communications, often requiring knowledge of technical terminologies and/or detailed office procedures;
