Key qualifications:
In 2022, Christina Plesner Volkdal (CPV) started her own consultancy company specializing in humanitarian and development intervention. CPV has worked for IPPF on humanitarian supply chain strengthening (sexual and reproductive health) in East Asia and the Pacific.
CPV has more than 15 years of specific experience working in international organizations/NGOs (UN) within humanitarian operations, development programmes, supply and logistics in humanitarian response, disaster preparedness and response, supporting country offices in emergencies, and offshore emergency coordination.
As part of the UN – UNICEF Emergency Coordination team located in Supply Division Copenhagen, CPV has worked with real-time data (monitoring of emergency orders/critical deliveries, analyzing key performance indicators), Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Response, Logistics, Field support, Communication (snapshots, intranet), developed new intranet portal SharePoint, develop VISION/SAP reports, lessons learned analysis, development and presenting S&L tools.
As CPV is currently in an industrial Ph.D. program within Social Science and Business, she is through her research on the humanitarian-development peace nexus, Cash Transfers, and blockchain digitalization, gaining great knowledge within the areas of study both from the industry and academia including research methodology, quantitative/qualitative data collection and analysis, research ethics and integrity, research design and project management, etc.
As head of Innovation in the Foreign Ministry of Denmark, CPV worked in the SME-team with the development of new business concepts and internationalization programs (BornGlobal, BornCreative) for Danish SMEs, prepared reports and memorandums to and for the Trade Council’s direction as well as contributed to several articles for the business media.
As head of Innovation in the Foreign Ministry of Denmark, CPV worked in the Official Export Promotion team: Arrange Official State visits for Head of State with business delegations (South Korea (The Royal Queen of Denmark), Brazil (Danish Prime Minister) Georgia (incoming state visit).
As Secretary of the American Danish Business Council and assistant at the Embassy of Denmark in Washington D.C., CPV worked with administrative-related tasks and numerous ad hoc projects incl. the preparation of different political reports for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government bodies, involved in the preparatory work for visits by government officials and delegations e.g. the Minister of Employment, represented the embassy at different events such as attending hearings in the US Congress (reg. energy, climate change, and CSR) as well as EU-meetings (the Lisbon Treaty), following the Danish Ambassador at diplomatic meetings with several head officials in Washington.
