Forest Cover Monitoring Advisor

Supporting forest cover monitoring and the implementation of participatory land use planning (PLUP 2.0)

reviewing and supporting the update of existing Land Use Plans (LUPs) and ensures a harmonized implementation of new land use planning in the project area through close cooperation with project staff, relevant government authorities and cooperating projects.

Coordinates closely with the agricultural component of I-GFLL to ensure coherent messaging to the government partners and allow synergetic implementation of the program components

Support Village Forest management and agriculture

Supports the formulation of Village Forest Management Plans with project villages and the implementation of “Annual Village Forest Operational Plans” (border demarcation, forest fire prevention, forest management, patrolling) as a resource person in Pilot Districts, training and technical backstopping of “Village Land Use and Forest Management Committees (VLUFMC)”, villagers and forest officers.
