About
A passionate advocate for sustainability and rural development, I bring over nine years of impactful experience in regenerative agriculture, circular economies, and sustainable market access. My expertise lies in empowering rural communities through entrepreneurship development, food security initiatives, and climate-smart agriculture. As the founder of Mawsam Beirut SARL, I created a transformative platform that improved market access for Lebanese small-scale producers, boosting sales by 30% across 95 points of sale and creating meaningful economic opportunities.
In my professional journey, I have collaborated with organizations such as UNDP, FAO, GIZ, and ENI CBC Med, where I led over 20 rural development projects across the Mediterranean and West Africa. My work with Fair Trade Lebanon helped build sustainable value chains and support over 400 farmers and cooperatives through training, market studies, and conflict-resolution initiatives. Additionally, my leadership roles at institutions like ISD and the American University of Beirut saw me manage multi-stakeholder initiatives that bridged policy, community action, and sustainability practices.
A thought leader in my field, I’ve contributed to global discussions through keynote speeches and publications, including my participation in FAO's Science and Innovation Forum and the International Mountain Conference. As a volunteer, I continue to mentor and support innovative projects through the Mercedes-Benz Fellowship and initiatives with FAO and Teach for All.
My philosophy is grounded in combating learned helplessness by fostering agency and resilience in marginalized communities. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, I leverage my multilingual skills and interdisciplinary expertise to drive sustainable impact globally. I hold an MSc in Rural Community Development, recognized for academic excellence, and am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my impact in sustainability and development.
