This project, supported by UNICEF, reaches vulnerable groups facing barriers to accessing health services in Monte Sinaí. The project promotes cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) and the local government, comprehensively addressing the challenges of access to health care by promoting community participation, coordination with the State, HIV prevention, with an emphasis on mother-to-child transmission, as well as maternal and child care, adolescent pregnancy prevention, and the empowerment of vulnerable groups, including women living with HIV and adolescents. The strengthening of the Community Health Surveillance Network is a central component of the project. Highlights of this strengthening include the creation of the Social Health Observatory, recognized by the Ecuadorian State. This is a significant achievement because it promotes social surveillance and the enforceability of health rights.
