Dr. Mohammadi is a registered Professional Engineer “PE – USA” (Civil), and an experienced Program and Project Leadership Professional in the fields of “Water Resources and Energy Infrastructure (Oil & Gas/Power/Petrochemicals)”. He has 25+ years of international experience and exposure to Capital Projects Engineering & Management for public utilities and private entities, and has held Senior Executive positions with various International Agencies and Global Engineering & Construction Firms in the profiles of: Planning; Engineering; Construction; and Project Operations, Administration & Controls.
Dr. Mohammadi’s experience covers an amalgam of unique sets of engineering and leadership skills that are augmented and enhanced by outstanding education and training focused on the interface of engineering, business management, planning and public policy. With a solid experience in the complete Program and Project Life Cycle, Dr. Mohammadi has specialized in the planning, design, construction, and management of a wide array of complex and large-scale water resources infrastructure facilities. He stands out as an outstanding professional in the Civil & Water Resources & Energy Engineering and Construction Industry including Project Design, Project Development, Project Management, Risk Analysis, Stakeholder Management and Monitoring & Evaluation. His business management skills and responsibilities at the executive level have been central to the planning and development of financially and environmentally sustainable projects guided by diverse stakeholder teams including significant public interest.
Dr. Mohammadi’s professional career and project management portfolio ranges from development of water resources policies, monitoring & evaluation, integrated river basin management; feasibility studies; and master plans; to planning, design and construction management of infrastructure capital investment programs including: urban stormwater and watershed management; municipal water supply, conveyance, distribution and treatment; irrigation and drainage; erosion and flood control structural and non-structural measures; and medium to large multipurpose dam projects. He has hands-on experience with the application of computer-based Decision Support Systems (DSS) for alternative evaluation of water resources planning and management options; asset management; risk analysis; value engineering/analysis; infrastructure security and vulnerability assessments, bioengineering, urban watershed management, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), workplace diversity, and on-the-job training (OJT) capacity building.
Dr. Mohammadi has 15+ years of extensive and engaging experience in planning, designing, directing and executing infrastructure development capital investment projects in the MENA region including Iraq, Jordan, Afghanistan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Liberia. He has led projects and programs supporting international financing organizations including the World Bank (WB), KfW, GiZ, Asian Development Bank (ADB), European Commission (EC) and US Development agencies (e.g., USAID) in rebuilding infrastructure and help stabilize the socio-economic conditions of countries emerging from war and conflict. His work in the conflict and post-conflicts countries of Iraq and Afghanistan has contributed to the successful strengthening and development of integrated water resources management institutional frameworks, and policies and human resources capacity in planning for and implementation of national water resources infrastructure and capital investment plans. His distinct cultural background and multi-lingual skills have contributed to successful management and implementation of politically sensitive and stakeholder-driven major water resources capital investment projects in the United States, the Middle East and the post-conflict environment (Iraq and Afghanistan). Dr. Mohammadi is a US Citizen speaking fluent English, Kurdish, Farsi (Dari) and is also proficient in Arabic.
