  • 30+ years of professional experience as agronomist/ food and nutrition security specialist with extensive knowledge in the fields of Rural Development, Food Security, Nutrition Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Social Protection, Agro-economic assessment, Agricultural Value Chain Development, Capacity Development, Organisational Assessment and Institutional Development;
  • Long-term experience in management of various long-term programmes ; team leader of 15+ short-term missions including multi-country, mult-sector and multi-stakeholder evaluations and programmes
  • Long-term experience in project formulation and management, project monitoring & evaluation, design of evaluation frameworks, mixed method approaches, implementation protocols, and policy formulation;
  • Wide-ranging experience in implementing project evaluation and formulation assignments for a wide range of clients including UNICEF, WFP, FAO, IFAD, the European Commission (EuropAid and country Delegations), bilateral donors (DGIS, DFID, Finland, BTC), International and national NGOs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs/ Evaluation and Policy Unit IOB;
  • Extensive working experience in Sub-Sahara Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe (long-term and short-term assignments). Up-to-date knowledge of African development policy frameworks and initiatives (NEPAD; FARA; African Union); good understanding of major players in the rural development sector (including major donors, International NGOs and private sector,) extensive experience of the role of Food Security and Nutrition sector; some experience with WASH, health sector, education (curriculum development and school feeding), environment at national and district levels;
  • Excellent knowledge of Project Cycle Management and evaluation procedures. Good knowledge of principles of good governance, aid modalities and aid effectiveness in international development.
